The Committee |
A group of people (generally three) who manage the club for a period of time defined by the legal statutes of the club. |

The first player out, the last player in. |
Educational |
by the Marshal (learn how to cross the road). |
Marshal |
A volunteer member of the club with a 1st or 2nd category handicap, who ensures that all participants in a competition respect the rhythm of play, the duration of play and the size of the competition. |
Instruction |
Carried out by the club professionals (the school teacher). |
Penalty |
A point added to the score of a player, which does not make him doubt himself. |
Penalty+ |
A point added to the score of a player, which makes him lose time and doubt himself. |
Penalty++ |
A point added to the score of a player, which puts the player and the other players in the group into a difficult situation, makes everyone doubt and negatively affects their concentration during the competition. |
Rhythm |
Minutes of play added together and controlled after every three holes, in order to calculate the length of time of play and the duration of the competition. |
Control charts |
A set of calculations which allowscontrol of the rhythm of all the groups on all the holes during a competition. |
A fast course |
A course which does not slow down play. |
A slow course |
A course which interrupts the rhythm of play and slows it down. |
Time |
The sum of the rhythms in order to respect the length of time of play and the duration of the competition. |
5th category |
Category used to teach course awareness to players who have passed the entrance test and are eligible to play in club competitions (usually lasting +/- 4 weeks). |
